雨夜花 (閩南/福建語) Rainy Night Flower (Min-nan/Hokkien Dialect) This song is dedicated to melodydamor for her support in interpreting the Min-nan/Hokkien dialect which I am weak at and in helping with the English translations of some of Teresa Teng's songs in this Chinese dialect. Probably the most important song in the Min-nan/Hokkien dialect then and now; it was composed in Taiwan in 1933 by two Chinese musicians,作詞：周添旺作曲：鄧雨賢. The melody of 雨夜花 (Rainy Night Flower) is also the original of the Japanese song "Ameno Yono Hana" which was popular during WWII. It is a sad story of a lady who is unable to locate her former lover and ends up working as a bargirl. It is still the most recognizable Min-nan/Hokkien song in Asia, and probably also in the World.
