i recommend a sansamp bass driver they can make any bass amp sound like a million bucks. if you're looking for a cheap great sounding amp i suggest playing it through a power amp and a decent cab. for around 1000 you can have a professional sounding setup

I got a 100W Crate combo-amp that was on sale for $450 at my local music shop. I got it to sound almost exactly like Danny's Ampeg amplifiers. So far it is doing enough for me, although I would prefer an Ampeg SVT-3PRO bass amp head and a small cabinet, but the Crate was all that I could afford at the time, and I desperately needed a new bass amplifier.

Oh, okay. I'll just point out that '97 on their self-named EP "Alkaline Trio" was done with Rob Doran and Glenn Porter.

Haha, I nearly bought a crate, but I got a roland instead =] Now you have no need to hurt me!!

Yeah my bad, I take bake the original bassist being Dan. I was going from Goddamnit forward.

Umm... NationStates44, that's not Rob Doran, that's Dan Andriano. He joined in mid-'96, right after Rob left.
