If they just believed it and hung out together it would be fine. But the CoS extorts money from its followers until they're bankrupt, separates them from their families, denies then needed medical attention sometimes resulting in death, and threatens and harasses its detractors. Google "Operation Freakout" and "Operation Snow White.

I'm American. I think this "Scientology" makes for an excellent "factual" science fiction story- its not as if current world events seem any more real than this. Since "Scientology" was created by a science fiction novelist, yet was coined by people who lived in an earlier time period, is there really any reason to be upset about people choosing to believe in science fiction? After all, just like science fiction novels, "Scientology" seems to inspire love and hatred for all its characters.

Scientology is rotten from the core. They have many secret recruitment fronts such as narcanon, criminon, The Way To Happiness. Local State Governments will not allow these fronts near our schools or children.
