Bigit Nilsson is the definitive Isolde. There is no way you can question her incredible performance here. I'm so moved by Nilsson's performance that i can't even describe how inredible her performance was.

I was listening to the Met broadcast of Tristan just now, and when the Liebestod came on, I had to turn it off and crank up this version. It is truly outstanding. Birgit just nails it....it seemed a better way to end it for me.At 5:40 in this vid , to me, is truly one of the most beautiful notes ever recorded. Bravo, Birgit!!!! I wish there were more like you.
