Indeed. I still can't understand his faces. Lang Lang is amazing pianist, but this is not acting.

I tend to put emotions into my movement, like I'd lean back when it slows down bob my head down when it's quiet. It's unintentional, but apparently it looks good.

Well the technical demands these days have gone way up since Schumann's time. This piece is meant to be kind of showy, so it wouldn't be completely wrong if he played it that fast. However, I'm not saying that his tempo is right, it's just that I think it sounds better at that speed.

theme and variations 1 to 3: 104 to 1/4;cantabile: 96 to 1/4;finale: 96 to 1/4, but schumann demands "vivace", so you can´t be that wrong, if you play it faster than 96...lang lang delivers a close-to-perfect interpretation, in my opinion.

I like the tempo - its how I play it - it doesn't sound so good slower - in my opinion

that's totally irrelevant and many argue that the emotions should be put into the hands, not being wasted on the face. That being said, it doesn't mean that making faces is horrible too...it really depends on the pianist. Lang Lang is talented but I think the facial expressions are too much
